When the Garden Grows, So Do the Weeds
Speaker: Krista Kafer

When the Garden Grows, So Do the Weeds: “Dealing with Misinformation and Disinformation in the Information Age,” a presentation by Krista Kafer, popular Sunday Denver Post columnist, adjunct professor of communication, journalism and political science, and frequent radio and television commentator.
It is estimated that there is 402.74 million terabytes of data created each day. In a time when information can be created, shared and re-shared online over and over and over, how are we able to determine what is information, what is misinformation and what is purposeful disinformation? Even when we are critical thinkers, we can be confused about what is factual and what is made up. Denver Post columnist, Krista Kafer will help us understand the issues related to this topic and help us to separate the wheat from the chaff and from the weeds.
We will serve snacks and refreshments from 4:00 to 4:30, then start the program. A small donation of $3 is suggested for the wine. The program will include announcements and a Humanist Moment before the presentation begins.
We hope to see you at 4:00 pm, on Sunday, July 28th, at Jefferson Unitarian Church! It is an in-person-only event.
This program is hosted by Jefferson Humanists, a chapter of the American Humanist Association.
