Race & Congregational Life (05/28)

Join us for our May Antiracist Leadership Meeting as will gather to continue our conversations on how to counter white supremacy, how to support and protect our own souls as well as the souls and bodies of our marginalized siblings.
What action is your congregation/community taking?
– Are you out and proud about your mission and vision to be a safe space for our marginalized siblings?
– Are you being silent and providing services as participant in an underground Railroad?
– Are you somewhere in between?
– Other????
What’s working and what isn’t?
Now more than ever, we must come together—join us in answering the call!
Your story and participation matter! Let’s stand united against racism and work toward lasting transformation for a more inclusive and equitable future.
Join us as we come together to explore, discuss, and take action on issues of racial justice within our UU congregations. Rooted in the UU commitment to equity and compassion, this meeting offers a space for reflection, education, and community-driven solutions for creating a more inclusive community and congregation. Unfortunately, there is no way to completely eradicate racism in our congregational spaces, therefore we will spend our time exploring how to limit racial biases and harm created by racism in our communities.
This event is open to anyone and everyone who is committed to confronting and removing racism from our communities.
Our Mission
The mission of Unitarian Universalists for Racial Justice is to bring Unitarian Universalists together for mutually accountable racial justice work.
Our Commitment
We are committed to doing the internal work of rooting out racial biases within the congregation systems and congregational life. We make a pledge to The Mountain Top UU as a form of reparations for harm that we as UUs have perpetuated upon our BIPOC siblings in the past.
The Goals of these meetings:
– Relationship building
– Exploring actionable steps and practicing antiracist leadership models
– Sharing past experiences, best practices, and community events
