Acting with Love as Our Center
1 October 2024
Dear Friends and Partners in Justice,
As we step into October, we reflect on the powerful theme of “Love as the Center.” In our work for racial justice, love is not merely an abstract concept—it is a radical, transformative force that drives us to dismantle systems of oppression and build communities rooted in equity, dignity, and compassion.
This month, as we hold love at the center of our actions and aspirations, I invite you to join us in participating in the social media series, “31 Days of Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Others.” Throughout October, this series will uplift resources and practices that support mental health, addiction recovery, suicide prevention, and caregiving, with particular attention to the needs of BIPOC, Queer, and youth communities.
Our commitment to racial justice must include caring for ourselves and others, especially those who are most vulnerable in our society. By sharing this series, we can offer vital support and create conversations within our communities about what it means to care in a way that centers both love and justice.
In this time of deep collective challenge, let us remember that our love for one another is what sustains our work for justice. May this month be one of renewal, connection, and action, as we continue to build the world we know is possible.
In Service,
Pastor AJ Blackwood
Community Minister
